Location: Leeds City Centre

Salary: Competitive

Hours of Work: 35 per week, Monday to Friday 9am -5pm

They are looking to recruit an Environment Engineer in based at their Leeds office. With this role you would become part of the UK’s largest provider of genuinely free independent debt advice and managed solutions.

Environment Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the non-production environments are provided, populated and maintained by:
  • Releasing and configuring new or upgraded software and services
  • Running SQL database restores and scripts
  • Ensuring that the necessary users/group permissions are understood and applied
  • Understand current and future requirements for non-live environments and adopt. a flexible forward-thinking approach to environment management
    • Complete environment preparation and releases within agreed service levels
    • Taking ownership of environment or release related issues, liaising with specialist infrastructure and database teams where necessary, and ensure good communication is maintained
    • Escalate to Continuous Delivery Manager where service levels are unlikely to be met or where the release or environment request is unachievable
    • Proactively monitor, capture and report on environment or application related issues with clarity and supporting analysis to maintain and improve the environment model
    • Work with Release Management to schedule and deploy technical change into the Live environment

Environment Engineer Requirements: 

  • Competent with installation and configuration web-based applications to the Windows Server platform
  • Competent with deploying Microsoft SQL database changes
  • Experience of trouble-shooting technical issues, combining diplomacy with assertiveness
  • Comfortable with high-pressure releases into live environment
  • Must demonstrate ownership of release tasks
  • Analytical, methodical and organised
  • Able to communicate and translate technical solutions to a non-technical audience
  • Must be a strong team player with a can-do attitude, who strives to support the IT department in its objectives and goals
  • Ability to be flexible with working patterns, proactive in approach to work and colleagues
