Technical Lead Consultant (Consultant Sustainable Manufacturing)

Location: London

Salary: £32,864+ (depending on experience)

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week

Purpose of the Consultant Sustainable Manufacturing (Technical Lead):

  • To proactively lead, manage and deliver commercial and research projects
  • To write high quality reports and support dissemination activities of work
  • Generating Intellectual property for the company on programs
  • Leading the commercial team in marketing, developing commercial proposals and leads
  • Represent our client in the field of expertise
  • Support junior roles in the specified technical area
  • Develop strategy for area of specialism
  • Preparing of research bids and commercial proposals to ensure sustainability of the team

Responsibilities of the Consultant Sustainable Manufacturing (Technical Lead):

  • Working with clients, internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers to define requirements on projects 
  • Responsibility for leading and managing projects and keeping up to date and delivering projects and assigned tasks to budget, quality and time
  • Supporting development of research proposals, contributing to consortium building, and project management
  • Delivering industrial research around new technologies
  • Confidently presenting new ideas and concepts to stakeholders or to the wider public
  • Supporting commercial team on marketing and leads generation
  • Protect and Exploit Intellectual Property on programs
  • Develop strategy and influencer map for sustainable manufacturing

Requirements of the Consultant Sustainable Manufacturing (Technical Lead):

Essential

  • Experience of working in manufacturing
  • Confident in planning and organising work to meet timed deliverables 
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering great customer service. 
  • A flexible approach to cope with frequent change
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Experience in leading projects and coordinating people
  • Experience of developing innovative ideas in the manufacturing context
  • Confident in leading workshops and high-level meetings
  • Confident in working with customers and suppliers up to senior level
  • Knowledge of New Product Development: idea generation, concept testing, business model development
  • Knowledge of Sustainable manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing & manufacturing process improvement
  • Knowledge of Circular economy principles and impact on manufacturing

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline or relevant industrial experience.
  • Previous consultancy experience
  • Value stream mapping and/or waste management knowledge
